SHOP LU EM

GABRIELA HURTADO

Gabriela is a native Texan, mom of two spunky, creative girls, and founder of Shop Lu Em. Shop Lu Em is an online boutique featuring a wide range of products that she has personally curated. In fact, one of the central products featured on Shop Lu Em is a product that she herself designed, patented, and brought to market.

Several years ago, Gabriela conceived an idea for a skincare tool, a dainty handle with a exfoliating bulb on one end, and a spatula/applicator on the opposite end. From a sketchbook drawing, her idea blossomed into the product that she now calls “The Tool”, a multi-functional skin care tool that can apply and enhance skincare product, exfoliate, and massage the face. The journey to bring “The Tool” to market required her to delve into the fields of industrial design, intellectual property, and e-commerce, among others.

Bringing “The Tool” to life has been a labor of love. Gabriela’s entrepreneurial spirit has soared in many directions from discovering products in Mexico, such as her “bulsita” line of bags, to designing gowns and custom-designed apparel. She is always on the lookout in her experiences and travels for unique inspiration, pieces and products that she can bring to her clients. Shop Lu Em is only the beginning for Gabriela.

As a busy mother to two, she has learned to balance her time between career and raising her daughters to be strong and capable women. Her fundamental goal as a mother is to blaze a path for her children and to be a passionate example to them. She is honored to be a founder of Moms Ascend where she can bring her unique talents and experience to help empower other women to be their best selves both within and outside of their careers.
